Parents of first time drivers need a little extra guidance as the process of licensing your child can be overwhelming. This page is designed specifically to help the parents along the way.
Begin By Setting The right Example
The best way to prepare your teen is by practicing safe driving practices yourself. Take initiative and start setting an example early on. Drive responsibly and do not do anything you wouldn’t want your teen doing.
Our Advice To You
- Decide where you and your teen will practice. It is a good idea to start in an empty parking lot, then make your way to safe side streets.
- Establish a driving route before leaving the house.
- Check beforehand to make sure your vehicle is in safe working condition.
- Remember to always remain calm.
- Don’t raise your voice; it will only make things worse.
- Praise your teen as often.
- Ask your teen how you can improve as a teacher.
